Scalable Visualization using VTK, ParaView, & Python

In this course students will gain practical experience in both ParaView, a scalable application for general purpose scientific visualization, and The Visualization Toolkit (VTK), the underlying open source library that ParaView is built from. The training mixes theory and application and students will be guided through a set of exercises all given in the python programming language. Upon completion of this course, students will not only know how to use ParaView and VTK, but will also know how to extend ParaView at run time, use it in concert with other Python capable applications, and run it in batch processing HPC contexts.

Prerequisites

  1. Laptop with ParaView and vtkpython binaries installed

  2. Basic knowledge of the Python programming language is assumed

This training course will be taught in English.
Course notes are also in English.
Participants are asked to bring a laptop computer for this training session.
